When I’m out on a long run, the only thing that matters is finishing the run....

Do we see?
truerunner:
We look, but do we see?
There is so much more to people when we see.
That girl in last place in that race?
Well she’s improved her race time by 2 minutes.
That girl who is last in her pack during practice?
She ran two more miles than everyone.
That guy who is so far behind in the race?
This is his first race back from a long injury.
We look, but do we see?

4 miles on trails. May have been too hilly because I definitely felt some IT band tightness/pain. Ugh.

Stressful week of RN job interviews is over. Now time to relax and run this weekend.
3 miles, it’s 64 degrees and sunny out. I’m so glad that my IT band is cooperating and I’m able to run again, because my stress level is WAY high lately and running helps clear my mind.

Running is beautiful. It gives you control, it leaves the negative behind. Hurt,...

2 miles on MUDDY trails (all of the snow we got last night has pretty much melted). Still no IT band pain, hoping this continues!
I reallyyy want to go trail running at night in the snow right now! (too bad I am injured, but definitely someday).

Life is so good. Graduated from nursing school, passed my boards, supportive family and friends, amazing boyfriend, the best puppy ever. Now I just need to find a job (three interviews this week!) and get back to running.
It’s official…I am a Registered Nurse! SO excited.

Runners might seem crazy at times because we embrace challenge and discomfort....
Accompanied my boyfriend to Lynchburg for his 50k packet pickup, and discovered the most wonderful running store focused entirely on trail running (unlike the ones around here where I can never find trail shoes…). Know that he will kick butt tomorrow and I hope to be back to joining him running long distance trail races soon! (at least I am back to running, just cautiously!)
